Is my child in first kicks, junior kicks or super kicks?
First Kicks Age Chart: You must have been born between July 31, 2007 and August 1, 2005 (if you were born on July 31st of 2005 you are too old for First Kicks).
Junior Kicks Age Chart: You must have been born between July 31, 2005 and August 1, 2003 (if you were born on July 31st of 2003 you are too old for Junior Kicks).
Super Kicks Age Chart: You must have been born between July 31, 2003 and August 1, 2001 (if you were born on July 31st of 2001 you are too old for Super Kicks).
Each player must provide proof of age with a birth certificate or passport before they are allowed to play in games.

What is the cost?
- $70 includes league fee and jersey
- $85 includes league fee, jersey, shorts & socks
- All Junior Kicks and Super Kicks players must have a North Texas ID Card and the cost is $18. You get that at Blue Sky and they expire every August 31st. It is a photo ID and requires your child to be present to purchase.
- First Kicks players do not need a North Texas ID Card.
- There is a $5 late registration fee if you register after the deadline.

Can my child play with his or her friend?
Yes, there is a place on the registration form to put the other child’s name. This is labeled on the form. If your friend plays on an existing team, your child can only play on that team if the team has space and the coach approves it.

Can my child return to their existing team?
Yes, there is a place on the registration form to put the coach’s name or team name. This is labeled on the form. If you don’t want to return to your existing team just leave that field blank or make a note on your form and you will be placed on a new team.
Each player must register individually even if they are returning to an existing team.

Can my child play with his or her friend?

Can my child return to their existing team?
Yes, each team gets one hour of free practice per session (based on field availability).

Can our team rent the field for practice?
Yes, it is $50 per hour. If you rent 4 or more hours the rate drops to $40 per hour.
Fields are available for rent the first Monday following the parent/coach meeting and must be done in person.
Any field rentals must be paid for in full at the time they are booked.

Can I bring my outdoor team to play indoor?
Yes, you can bring your entire team to play indoor. If you are bringing an entire team in please email Belinda Hampton at Belinda@blueskysportscenter.com and let her know.
Each player must register individually.

What kind of equipment is required?
Each player is REQUIRED to wear shinguards. The socks must completely cover the shinguard.
We recommend that each player have a ball for practice purposes.
They can wear cleats, indoor shoes, turf shoes or tennis shoes to play on our fields.
We offer a Future Stars Kit that includes: cleats, shinguards, ball and bag for $59.99 (available at Blue Sky).

My child has never played before is that ok?
Yes, these leagues are for kids that have never played before, played a little and there are some that have played for several seasons. So, there is a good mix of players at different levels.

My child doesn’t have a team to play on, how does that work?
Each child that registers is guaranteed to be placed on a team. After registration is complete, we take all of the players and place them on an existing team or make new teams. ^top
Who coaches the teams?
- All of the coaches are parent volunteers
- ALL teams MUST have a parent volunteer to coach so the kids can play.
- Each coach must have a North Texas Indoor Coaches Card
- The cost is $14
- You get the card at Blue Sky and we must have your driver’s license because there is an automatic background check done. This background check is very extensive and helps to ensure the safety of the children.
- If you are not approved for a Coaches Card, the Blue Sky staff will give you the contact information for North Texas Soccer and you will need to contact them directly to work out any issues.

When will my child receive his or her jersey?
The jerseys will be available on the day of their first game. The coach will pick them up at the front desk.
If you ordered a complete uniform (shorts & socks) when you registered they will also be available on the day of your first game. The coach will pick them up at the front desk.
**Please note there may be times that it is necessary to substitute a jersey for the next size up from what you requested. This is a rare occasion but it does happen**

When will schedules be ready?
Schedules are typically available online at www.blueskysportscenter.com the Monday before the first games begin.

Can I coach my child's team?
Yes, absolutely! Please make sure to place this information on your registration form or email Belinda Hampton at Belinda@blueskysportscenter.com and let her know that you would like to coach.
Remember you must get a coaches card before the first game.

I missed registration is there anything I can do?
Yes, please fill out the registration form and we will place you on a waiting list. If there is a spot open on a team we will notify you.
There is a $5 late fee that will be added to your registration total.

Do I have to give you a copy of my child’s birth certificate or passport?
We require that each player provide Blue Sky with proof of age with either a birth certificate or passport. We must receive this before they can play in a game.
If you have already provided Blue Sky with proof of age, we don’t need it again.

How many players are typically on a team?
First Kicks – Normally no more than 10 players per team unless requested by the coach.
Junior Kicks - Normally no more than 8 players per team unless requested by the coach.
Super Kicks – Normally no more than 8 players per team unless requested by the coach.

When will I get a copy of my team roster?
Each coach will be emailed a copy of their roster after the parent/coach meeting. Please be sure to always check your Spam/Bulk folder.
After you receive the roster please make sure to contact all of your players via phone and email.

How do I find out what team my child is on and the coaches information?
Each coach is emailed a copy of their roster that includes all of their players contact information. They have been instructed to call all the parents.
The Wednesday after the parent/coach meeting if you have not heard from your coach please send an email to Belinda Hampton at Belinda@blueskysportscenter.com with your child’s name and she will email you back the coaches contact information. Please be sure to always check your Spam/Bulk folder.

Playing Rules
First Kicks
- Play 5 v 5 with Coaches on the field
- Play 4 – 8 min quarters
- No goalkeepers
- No score is kept
- No ID card required
- Coaches must have a Coaches Card
- No out of bounds unless it goes out through the opening where you enter the field
- No slide tackling
Junior Kicks & Super Kicks
- Play 4 v 4
- Play 2 – 20 minute halves
- No goalkeepers
- No score is kept for Junior Kicks
- Score is kept for Super Kicks
- No slide tackling
- Must have an Indoor ID card
- Coaches must have a Coaches Card
- No out of bounds unless it goes out through the opening where you enter the field
- You cannot be inside the arc and play the ball – you can stand outside of the arc and reach into it and play the ball as long as your foot doesn’t touch the ground inside the arc
- If the defending team violates this rule the ball is placed half the distance from the top of the arc and the white line and the offensive team is given a kick – the defending team is allowed to form a wall in front of the goal but outside of the arc
- If the offensive team violates this rule the ball is placed half the distance from the top of the arc and the white line and the defensive team is given a kick – the offensive team must remain 3 yards from the ball until it is played

Parent/Coach Meeting – Do I have to attend the meeting?
This is the time you will find out what team your child is on and be able to meet with the coach (parent volunteer) and other parents to discuss practice times, etc.
I encourage all coaches to attend this meeting especially if you are coaching a new team or have new players joining your team.
If you are unable to attend the parent/coach meeting and you have not heard from your coach by the Wednesday following the meeting please contact Belinda Hampton at Belinda@blueskysportscenter.com and she will give you the contact information for your coach.

What is a Snack Attack Card?
A Snack Attack Card is a punch card personalized with your child’s name and gives them a drink and snack at all 8 of their games.
You may also choose to use the Snack Attack Card as your turn to bring snacks & drinks for the team.
You take the card to Sweepers and let us know which drink and snack you would like (from the available choices) and we will punch the card and hand you the drink and snack! It’s that easy and you don’t have to worry about going to the store or forgetting your drinks and snacks at home!
The cost is $15 per card

What day do we play?
First Kicks – Generally play on Saturday mornings from 8am until around 1pm. We realize that a lot of the kiddos still take naps so we try to end early for that purpose.
Junior Kicks Girls – Generally play on Saturday afternoons
Junior Kicks Boys – Generally play on Sundays 12 noon or later
Super Kicks Boys & Girls – Generally will play on either Saturday or Sunday late afternoons to early evenings.

When does my team practice?
Practice days and times are decided between the coach (parent volunteer) and the other parents. Blue Sky is not involved in this process unless your team decides to rent our field for practice.

What if I register my child and I change my mind?
Your registration is non-refundable unless you meet one of the following exceptions:
- Your child has a medical condition that will prevent them from playing and you provide us with a note from your doctor.
- If you move more than 50 miles out of the area and can show proof with a lease or utility bill.
If you do not meet the criteria listed above your registration is non-refundable. You may choose to hold your registration over to the following season or apply your registration fee to our skills classes.
